oh wow that’s actually pretty heavy. McLaren F1 only ways 2450 lbs so I’m kinda surprised they weigh that much. Indy cars are faster in a straight line than F1 cars right? F1 car’s have smaller engines now but I’m pretty sure Indy cars are still big

Yea I understang and agree with you about the F1 cars, its amazing. Stock cars can make up to 750 hp at around 9000 rpm, depending on the track they tune the engines a certain way and they are usually aroung 350 cubic inch engines. They have a minumum weight rule of 3400 lbs so there not considered to be light compared to F1

my bad. I didn’t mean Nascar isn’t hard, I just was trying to emphasize how incredible F1 is. I’m still puzzled why nascar’s so popular but I’m from Massachusetts & there’s not alot of people that are into it up here. I think it’s crazy how g-forces are so insane that you’ll break your kneck unless you excersize it to the extreme. Racing in genereal is amazing but nothing outperforms a F1 car. I’m curious about nascar’s, how much hp? do you what they usually weigh?

  6. #6 by Mr04MustangCobra on January 29, 2010 - 4:51 am

Yea of course F1 is a lot more extreme because the acceleration is unbelieveable and those g-forces they reach in the corners are crazy. If I had to pick which one was harder it would definitely be F1 or I could be wrong, never drove either car but not a lot of people have the balls to do 200 mph an inch from the wall so that can be just as hard. I personally have tons of respect for both Nascar and F1 and it annoys me when people say either one isnt hard.

I didn’t mean that nascar isn’t racing, IMO F1 is more extreme. You’re right, I could never be a nascar driver, the length of the race & skill needed to do it is insane but that’s what makes F1 incredible bcuz IMO it’s on another level. As for the clutch, I’m sure all F1 drivers could handle shifting w/a clutch but they took it out to make the cars smaller & faster. I actually love paddle shifter’s but I get what you’re saying. I respect nascar but IMO F1 is the ultimate in racing

So Nascar isnt racing? I’d like to see you sit in a car for 3 or 4 hours straight doing 200+ mph an inch or 2 from the wall. And not to mention Nascar drivers actually have to hit a clutch too, non of that flappy-panel garbage. I’m not bashing F1, I love watching it because its exciting and fast, but I also do have respect for Nascar drivers.

no the consensus is that people can’t handle somebody elses oppinion…

How stupid can people be nowadays? A F1 car without pedals, that is just ridiculous.

nope. :D . for 2 reasons, one being that i hate schumacher and therefore hate that he’s back. 2 being that raikkonen (my idol) is not in the series anymore.

Not unless you have one of those Logitech wheels and a PS3 – yes they can be used with the PS3. I have the G25, whose 6-SPEED GEARSHIFT AND CLUTCH PEDAL actually work on the PS3, particularly Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. And since that game features an F1 car (the Ferrari F2007), it’s possble to try the experience of driving an F1 car the way it’s done in real life using one of those wheels (i.e. with the gas and brake pedals and the paddle shifters as well as the wheel). One hell of a drive indeed!

@tohtorigyro none taken dude, guess im just on the youtube defensive, we are all fellow F1 fans at the end of the day aren’t we? u looking forward to the new season?

  22. #22 by tohtorigyro on January 29, 2010 - 1:09 pm

sorry, didn’t mean to be offensive :D . but if lewis has said something like that, then mclaren might have some sorta diff lock thingy on it aswell. you know, for locking the other wheel. that might help the car slide left or right better. who knows really! :D f1 teams these days are just so paranoidly secretive.

  23. #23 by monkeyboy85 on January 29, 2010 - 1:28 pm

@tohtorigyro lol, get some manners mate, don’t talk to me like that. I never suggested the clutch should be on the floor, just thaught with them having 2 clutch paddles it would engage the clutch differently to pull out of the garage either left or right. Lewis hamilton himself said this was the case so it is not ‘gibberish’.

  24. #24 by tohtorigyro on January 29, 2010 - 2:07 pm

could you say that more clearly? it’s hard to get an understanding of what you’re on about! but did you mean just “why do they have 2 of those levers” both of the levers handle the same purpose. there is 2 of them so the driver can pull either one he want’s. the action is all the same. why isn’t it foot operated? well because there is no room for the 3rd pedal and it’s used too rarely for it to be given the extra space. btw, what’s with that “left to pull out right right to left” gibberish?

  25. #25 by tohtorigyro on January 29, 2010 - 2:08 pm

giant? it’s only 2.4 litres mate!
