Toyota’s week of inferno continues to inspire on as the company’s dweller arm announced today that it is recalling eight of its most popular vehicles to replace defective gas pedals, the latest expansion of a U.S. recall that’s affected 4.4 meg vehicles. The dweller recall could affect up to 1.8 meg vehicles.

\”We see that the current situation is creating concerns, and we deeply regret it,\” Toyota Europe CEO Tadashi Arashima, said in a statement. \”We would also like to reassure customers: the potential accelerator tone issue only occurs in rattling rare circumstances. The announced action is a preventive measure aimed to guarantee the highest safety standards to all customers.\”

  

 As with the U.S. recall, exclusive Toyota-brand vehicles are affected, not Lexus (Scion isn’t sold in Europe), as they ingest assorted pedal pedals. Unlike the U.S., though, Toyota will not halt production of its European vehicles because the company says it has already begun replacing the faulty pedals with new, redesigned units. Toyota says exclusive a restricted number of incidents of inadvertent acceleration have been reportable in aggregation and that none of them have resulted in a break as far as the company knows.

The stylish recall affects eight Toyota aggregation models, including the Avensis, Aygo, Corolla, iQ, Rav4, Verso and Yaris. The recall exclusive applies to those vehicles shapely between 2005 and January 2010 and all of the vehicles in question, except the Corolla, are shapely in aggregation or Turkey.
